Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Improvement Assistant to support the Quality Improvement Director with our ongoing efforts in maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and enhancing service quality. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of healthcare standards, including HIPAA, and regulatory frameworks such as Joint Commission accreditation requirements. This paid position offers an opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of mental health services within a dynamic community-focused organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring adherence to healthcare compliance standards, including HIPAA privacy rules, Joint Commission accreditation requirements and all Federal, State and Local regulations.
- Assist with clerical preparation of the Joint Commission accreditation survey.
- Maintain and organize Quality Improvement department files and records.
- Support audits by collecting relevant data, preparing reports, and addressing identified areas for improvement.
- Assist in tracking performance metrics related to clinical quality indicators and regulatory standards to facilitate ongoing organizational improvements.
- Draft and format letters, memos and other internal and external communications.
- Support special projects and quality improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with staff across all levels of the organization.
- Support efforts of the Quality Improvement Safety Committee.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety, care delivery, and regulatory compliance.
Experience
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, required.
- Bachelor Degree, preferred.
- Data entry skills, required.
- Prior experience working within healthcare settings, preferably in behavioral health or mental health organizations, preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, regulatory compliance management practices, preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and regulatory bodies.
