Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for procedures.
- Assist dentist/ hygienist during various treatments, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision.
- Take X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient records using Dentrix Ascend, accurately documenting medical history, treatment plans, and procedural notes.
- Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout appointments.
- Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation with accuracy.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and utilizing dental terminology effectively.
- Experience with Dentrix Ascend
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with children in a clinical setting.
- Ability to operate medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners safely and accurately.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and educate patients about procedures.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and medical terminology for accurate documentation.
