What are the responsibilities and job description for the STAFFING COORDINATOR position at Port Washington Post Acute?
We are looking for a highly organized, dependable, and proactive Staffing Manager to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring our residents receive consistent, high-quality care by maintaining appropriate staffing levels across all departments while also overseeing central supply operations.

What You’ll Do:
- Create and manage daily and weekly staffing schedules for nursing and support staff
- Coordinate call-offs and secure coverage in real time
- Maintain accurate staffing records and ensure compliance with staffing ratios and regulations
- Communicate clearly with leadership regarding staffing needs, gaps, and trends
- Work closely with HR on onboarding, tracking certifications, and staffing readiness
- Monitor attendance patterns and support accountability processes
- Oversee central supply, including inventory management, ordering, and ensuring units are appropriately stocked
- Ensure timely distribution of supplies to support clinical operations

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School graduate or better; CNA certification preferred
Work Experience: Experience in long-term care and prior scheduling experience preferred
Language Skills:
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information, and to be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language.
Mathematical Skills:
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, and volume.
Communication Skills:
- Must have exceptional communication and customer service skills, and be empathetic.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff, supervisors, and management.
