Summer Camp Counselor – Port Washington Children’s Center

Location: Port Washington Children’s Center – Port Washington, NY
About Us:
The Port Washington Children’s Center (PWCC) is a warm, welcoming, and community-focused early childhood program dedicated to nurturing children through engaging, hands-on learning and play. Our summer camp program is filled with exciting activities, outdoor fun, and memorable experiences for children of all ages.
Position Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and energetic Summer Camp Counselors to join our team! Counselors will help create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for children while leading activities, supporting daily routines, and fostering positive relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety of all campers at all times
- Plan and lead engaging activities including arts & crafts, games, and outdoor play
- Assist with swimming, trips, and special events
- Encourage teamwork, inclusion, and positive behavior
- Support daily routines such as snack, lunch, and transitions
- Communicate effectively with staff and supervisors
- Serve as a positive role model for all campers
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children (camp, school, childcare, or related setting preferred)
- Energetic, patient, and dependable
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work outdoors and stay active throughout the day
- Must be at least 16 years old (or adjust as needed)
Schedule:
- Summer 2026 (June – August)
- Monday through Friday (hours may vary based on program needs)
