At Port View Preparatory®, every team member plays a vital role in creating nurturing, structured learning environments where students are supported academically, socially, and behaviorally. We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our collaborative school-based team. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will help implement meaningful interventions that support student independence and access to learning. Support students’ IEP goals through classroom-based accommodations and strategies aligned with OT recommendations. Partner with teachers and instructional staff to ensure consistent carryover of therapeutic strategies across the school day. Work collaboratively with educators, families, behavior specialists, and related service providers to support student progress. Create, adapt, and modify materials to increase student engagement, independence, and functional skill development. Support progress monitoring, documentation, and reporting in coordination with your supervising OT. Provide individual, group, and consultative services across classroom and school settings. Manage assigned caseload responsibilities in alignment with program and departmental guidelines.
Requirements / Qualifications
Proof of license or certification as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) 1–4 years of experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (school-based or nonpublic school experience preferred) A mission-driven mindset and genuine passion for supporting students with special needs Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
