The Position
We currently have an opening for a Chip Lab Technician, this role reports directly to the Technical Services Manager. The chip lab technician is responsible for the measurement of moisture content and size classification of chips, hog fuel, monorail, barge and off-site reload received at the mill. Provides care in operation of the lab equipment. Responsible for checking calibration and keeping records on key measurement equipment and lab housekeeping.

Qualifications
Job Responsibilities
- Moisture Measurement.
- Quality Measurement – Size Classification.
- Collecting samples for barges and hog fuel.
- Calibration checks and recordkeeping.
- Bone dry reports.
- Housekeeping.
- Special projects as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in MS office applications, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook and basic software skills.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of chemistry, operating lab equipment,
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and quality tolls
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 6 months - 1 year of laboratory or technical experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Employment Terms
- Full-time, Non-Exempt position
- Salary range: $50,000-$70,000 DOE
