Position Opening Announcement:       Rivals Head Girls Fastpitch Coach

                                                      Port Townsend HS and Chimacum HS        

                                                      2025-26 School Year

Performance Responsibilities:                                             

1. Demonstrate the philosophy of a competitive purpose-based athletics program. Our purpose as an athletic department is to help produce better humans. We view sports as a way to impart life skills to our student athletes by placing the right adults in coaching positions who will teach, as well as model sportsmanship, good character, and support each student-athlete in their social and emotional growth.
2. Teach the basic skills of the sport.
3. Teach the rules, dress code, and principles pertaining to the sport.
4. Teach, implement, and supervise safety guidelines for the sport.
5. Provide guidance to the assistant(s) and volunteer coaches and actively engage them in the development of the program.
6. Facilitate the establishment of team/activity goals as well as individual goals of team members.
7. Maintain discipline within framework of school policy.
8. Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with the teams, community, and district staff.
9. Establish expectations for the team, which are communicated to parents/guardians. Communicate with parents as needed throughout the season.
10. Be willing to spend the time and effort to maintain WIAA coach’s certification.
11. Have a current first aid/CPR card or be willing to take emergency medical training.
12. Conduct fund raising and cash management within the guidelines of the school district as determined by the Business Office.
13. Follow the guidelines and expectations as outlined in the Coaches Handbook.
