Title: Mountain Timber Market Assistant
Department: Mountain Timber Market
Status: Non-exempt
Reports to: Market Manager
General Position Summary:
This position provides administrative support to the Mountain Timber Market Manager on a variety of functions of the Market. Many of the functions require independent action to instigate or respond to events or obligations. The successful candidate has superior customer service and comfort with the public.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

Supports the Mountain Timber Market Manager, operations of the Market, and takes direction from the Mountain Timber Market Manager
Coordinates use of event rooms, including:
o Showing banquet rooms
o Providing Event Space Rental Agreement and Contract to interested parties
o Processing Credit Card Payments for use of rooms
o Helping users connect to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for use of TV display, along with troubleshooting, if needed
o Review rules of room use and enforcing rules during use
o Notifying Mountain Timber Market Manager of escalating and/or persistent problems
o Assuring cleanliness of rooms before and after customer use
Initial point of contact for marketplace inquiries, to include but not limited to:
o Questions about the Market
o Inquiries on available spaces and uses
o Providing applications of interest to those who meet qualifying criteria
o Providing rental rates
Coordinate with the Mountain Timber Market Manager responses to phone, in person, and electronic inquiries
Assist with social media posts and monitor for activity that needs attention
Liaison between Tenants and Mountain Timber Market Manager when Manager is unavailable
Scan and file documents related to Mountain Timber Market activities in Laserfiche
Add amphitheater and park events to Mountain Timber Market and share with tenants, as appropriate
Light janitorial work including:
o Cleaning up spills
o Cleaning common area tables
o Picking up trash/litter
o Taking garbage out to the dumpster
o Spot cleaning restrooms, as needed
Secondary Functions:
May assist with data entry for reports using Excel, Word or other software
May assist with event planning, preparation, setup, and tear down of events, activities, etc.
Other duties as assigned
Job Scope:
Work varies and is moderately complex
Perform duties independently with minimal supervision, operating under high level directions and instructions
Make decisions of a routine nature within established authority
Supervisory Responsibility:
The position has no supervisory functions.

In any dealing with the public, employee shall be courteous and professional. The employee is to always represent the Port, Mountain Timber Market and staff in a positive way to the public. When dealing with disgruntled parties, extra care is to be taken to remain objective and professional.
Clients, consultants and other business partners of the Port and Market are to be addressed with professionalism at all times. Interactions with other Port and Market personnel are to be courteous and respectful, regardless of position within the organization.
Most interactions come in the form of email, phone, and face-to-face contact.
All documents, paper or electronic, created with Port and Market resources or on behalf of the Port and Market are public documents subject to disclosure requests. Care must be taken to ensure all communications are appropriate for disclosure.

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum two-years customer service experience preferred
Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to troubleshoot Bluetooth display technology on both Apple and Non-Apple products
Job Conditions:
The position is in a retail space/office environment that requires multi-tasking and interactions with the general public. Standing, sitting, and light janitorial work may be required. Hours and schedule are dependent on business needs. Primary hours will be late afternoon, evening and weekends. Open flexibility is required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
