As a Electrician at the Port of Galveston, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment throughout the port’s infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical systems operate efficiently and meet safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Installation & Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and equipment, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
· Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs to ensure minimal downtime and operational efficiency.
· Compliance: Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal electrical codes and regulations, as well as port-specific safety protocols.
· Inspection & Testing: Conduct routine inspections and testing of electrical systems and equipment to identify potential issues and ensure proper functioning.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, repair logs, and inventory of parts and materials used.
· Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance staff, contractors, and port personnel to coordinate electrical repairs and installations.
· Emergency Response: Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and perform repairs as needed to ensure safety and operational continuity.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience as an electrician, with experience in industrial or commercial settings preferred.
- Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with port staff, tenets, and other team members.

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work. Monday- Friday, 8AM- 5PM.
