Human Resources Recruiter & Tribal Liaison (Tribal Member Only)
General Position Summary
Responsible for the recruitment efforts of Port Madison Enterprises, in coordination with the department management team. Actively promotes Tribal Preference.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or GED required. BS or BA degree in personnel, business administration or public administration desired. Minimum two (2) years personnel supervisory or management experience desired. A combination of years of recruiting experience (3 or more) and supervisory training may be substituted for degree preference.
Job Conditions
Working conditions include working in an office setting with a computer, telephone, fax and copier. Hours may vary including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork. Ability to handle stress and time constraints. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to work evenings based on a rotating schedule.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
- Coordinates recruitment process of all open positions
- Identifies creative avenues for attracting tribal candidates and all other qualified applicants and assists HR management with personnel matters involving Suquamish Tribal Members
- Works with HR Director and In-House Trainer to develop game plans for eligible, but unemployed tribal members
- Responsible for internal job postings and all external classified advertisements
- Responsible for overseeing the intake process and the HR Coordinator(s) in conjunction with the HR management
- Tracks the hiring trends in accordance with tribal preference
- Works in conjunction with In-House Trainer to insure correct interviewing techniques are followed and assists in the development of position-based interview questions/criteria
- Runs application reports per the established schedule
- Maintains the hiring process report weekly to communicate candidate progress with managers
- Assists in training supervisors and managers during hiring process training sessions
- Responsible to oversee timely communication to ineligible candidates and internal applicants
- Works with the In-House Trainer to have Certified Trainers available when new hires complete the hiring process
- Works with Tribal Gaming Licensing as the casino’s liaison for licensing/badging procedures/requirements
- Assists in forecasting staffing needs as necessary
- Assists in developing and maintaining job descriptions
- Completes employment verifications (pre-hire)
- Trains HR Coordinator(s) in duties associated with recruitment and maintaining staffing levels
- Assists in the coordination of employment job fairs as needed
- Consistently identifies mechanisms and processes to streamline hiring process
- Greets new hires during orientation and explains Tribal Liaison aspect of position
- Supports Human Resources staff as necessary
- Other duties as deemed necessary
- Proficient in MS Office
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong supervisory, problem solving and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
- Ability to work with a variety of people
