General Position Summary:
Maintains cleanliness of all Food & Beverage areas. Washes dishes, pots, pans, utensils and other food service wares. Maintains sanitary conditions of all Food and Beverage areas.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Washes and puts away all dishes, pots, pans, and utensils
- Follows all written and verbal instructions concerning department equipment use, and maintenance of that equipment
- Maintains cleanliness of all Food and Beverages Department spaces (i.e., dish room, meeting spaces, kitchen and equipment, reefer/freezer food storage areas
- Responsible to keep kitchen area clean to include walls, doors and keeps stainless areas polished
- Responsible for emptying trash cans located in the kitchen
- Removes soiled linen and uniform bags to the linen supplier cart
- Provides Spectacular Customer Service at all times
Secondary Functions:
- Other duties as assigned by management
Specific Job Skills:
- Performs functions and responsibilities quickly and efficiently
- Ability to learn how to operate and maintain an automatic dishwasher
- Follows Port Madison Enterprises’ (PME) policies and procedures and health and safety standards
- Organized and able to carry out tasks at the direction of the supervisor
- Able to work with others in a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Food handlers card required within 30 days of employment. Must successfully obtain a SERV SAFE Certification required within six (6) months.
Job Conditions:
Working conditions include working with and around dish machine washer, kitchen equipment sometimes under crowded conditions, frequent interruptions.
Physical Requirements:
Has the ability to lift 75 lbs. while standing, twisting, or bending. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and have manual and finger dexterity for handling serving dishes, and other equipment.
