Virginia REACH (Regional Education Assessment Crisis Services Habilitation) provides crisis prevention and intervention services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) who are experiencing behavioral health or psychiatric crises. The program is designed to reduce unnecessary hospitalizations, strengthen community-based supports, and help individuals remain safely connected to their homes and communities. Through mobile crisis response, stabilization services, consultation, and crisis therapeutic homes, the REACH team delivers life-changing support when individuals and families need it most.

In the role of Mobile Crisis Coordinator, you’ll provide direct mobile crisis response and stabilization services for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. You’ll work closely with individuals, families, community providers, and support teams to de-escalate situations, develop stabilization plans, and connect individuals to the resources needed for long-term success.

What You’ll Do

  • Respond to behavioral health crises involving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community settings.
  • Provide mobile crisis intervention, assessment, stabilization, and follow-up support services.
  • Partner with individuals, families, caregivers, community providers, hospitals, schools, and public agencies to coordinate care and promote positive outcomes.
  • Coordinate referrals and admissions to REACH Crisis Therapeutic Homes when appropriate.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with community stakeholders throughout the service area.
  • Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to ensure crisis support remains accessible.
  • Contribute to program goals focused on crisis prevention, stabilization, and community integration.

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who brings the experience, skills, and commitment needed to succeed in this role.

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related clinical field
  • Active Virginia LPC, LCSW, or LMFT license or license-eligible
  • Experience providing services to individuals with behavioral health needs; experience with I/DD populations preferred
  • Strong crisis intervention, assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Experience working in community-based behavioral health settings preferred
  • Proficiency with EHR systems, Microsoft Office applications, and technology-based documentation
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation required
  • Ability to travel throughout the Northern Virginia service area
