Established in 1972, Por La Mar Nursery is one of the premier wholesale nurseries on the South Coast. We’re a family-run business that specializes in both blooming varieties such as Mini Roses, Calla Lilies, and Kalanchoes, and foliage varieties such as Monstera, Ficus, Pothos, and many more.
Job Summary
We are looking for an individual to assist one or more of our key sales representatives with entering orders and facilitating communication with clients as needed; in addition to handling freight coordination internally and externally with our clients and vendors. This individual will grow in their role and become a key member of our sales team here at Por La Mar Nursery as we continue to expand in the floral sector. This role is responsible for advancing the sales process by coordinating freight pick-up, routing, transportation, and handling of shipments at the company. We are looking for someone who is a team player, detail oriented, driven to succeed and has a passion for learning.
Essential Functions
· Order entry
· Oversee client communication when needed
· Coordinating with freight partners regarding shipment pick-up/container unloading
· Verify and approve freight invoices
· Preparation of necessary paperwork (invoices, BOLs, certifications, pick tickets, etc.)
· Monitor progress of shipments, customs clearance, and handling of agricultural certifications
· Develop relationships with clients and sales team members
· Filing of all necessary materials
· Other miscellaneous sales-related / office duties
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma (or equivalent). Some College preferred
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite a plus
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Bilingual in English/Spanish (preferred)
- Great communication skills and team player
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
