RN Clinical Director
Our client is seeking a dynamic, energetic and experienced Clinical Director (RN) to lead the clinical team and support our mission of delivering exceptional patient care. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing both clinical and administrative operations while collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and staff to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality care.
The Clinical Director serves as a key member of the leadership team and will balance direct patient care responsibilities with operational, staffing, and regulatory oversight.

- Has perioperative nursing experience in an ambulatory surgery center or surgical setting
- Possesses proven leadership and team management experience
- Has ophthalmic surgery experience (preferred)

- Communicates effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and families
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Patient Care
- Apply evidence-based nursing principles and best practices to patient care activities throughout the facility
- Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Participate in direct patient care as needed and provide clinical support to nursing teams
- Monitor clinical operations to ensure patient needs are consistently met
- Promote and enforce nursing standards, policies, and accreditation requirements
- Foster a culture of patient safety, quality improvement, and exceptional service
Operations Management
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate clinical personnel to support professional development and high performance
- Coordinate procedure scheduling and ensure appropriate staffing levels for daily operations
- Develop staffing schedules, balancing patient volumes, employee availability, time-off requests, and holidays
- Assign daily duties and responsibilities based on staff experience and competencies
- Review clinical documentation to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
- Serve as a liaison between patients, families, physicians, and staff to address concerns and promote positive outcomes
- Monitor operational efficiency and communicate opportunities for improvement to the Administrator
- Manage inventory and supplies to maintain adequate stock levels while controlling costs
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance patient care and operational effectiveness
Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal, state, and accrediting agency regulations
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and clinical practices to ensure compliance
- Lead accreditation readiness efforts and support survey activities
- Review and update policies regularly to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Promote a culture of compliance, quality assurance, and risk management
Qualifications
Required
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas or a compact state
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Perioperative nursing experience- means All aspects of surgery- see patient before, during and after surgery
- Leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
- Strong computer and technology skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Preferred
- Ophthalmic surgery experience
- Advanced education in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher
