Role Overview
Populus is seeking a talented, motivated VP of Sales for an individual contributor role, reporting to the SVP Sales. You will call on pharmaceutical brands and agencies, selling our suite of virtual care solutions. You will focus on building in-roads directly with brands and their agency teams. You will be tasked with expanding & evangelizing our products while educating senior marketers on the value of our virtual point of care offerings.
Key Responsibilities
· Sales Strategy Development — Build and execute a revenue strategy aligned with SVP priorities, quarterly targets, and long‑range growth plans across pharma and agency accounts.
· Pipeline Management — Own forecasting, pipeline accuracy, and deal‑stage discipline; ensure predictable revenue delivery.
· Solution Selling — Translate Populus’ capabilities into compelling narratives around HCP targeting, patient activation, data quality, and improved outcomes.
· Cross‑Functional Alignment — Partner with marketing, client success, analytics, and product to ensure cohesive go‑to‑market execution.
· Account Expansion — Develop new and grow existing agency and pharma relationships through multi‑brand adoption, new use cases, and expanded data integrations.
· Retention & Satisfaction — Ensure seamless handoff to client success and maintain senior‑level oversight of key accounts.
· Client relationships - Build and maintain long-lasting, robust relationships with clients while partnering with them to better understand their business objectives and needs
· Industry Knowledge - Develop expertise in industry-specific trends and landscapes, with a learning mindset
· Market Trends - Report on client and market forces that shift strategic directions of accounts and tactical budgets
· Team Spirit - Participate as an active and collaborative member of a growing sales team
Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
· 10 years of sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry
· Excellent presentation and verbal / written communication skills
· Previous experience selling media/patient engagement services to pharmaceutical brands and their agencies across a suite of product offerings
· Proven performance in delivering sales goals and managing a pipeline and target list
· Excellent listening skills with proven ability to translate client needs into revenue
· Ability to understand the Populus product suite and articulate the value proposition
· Existing client/agency relationships within the pharmaceutical sector a must
· A knowledge of the virtual care and patient / HCP engagement sectors a plus
· A strong work ethic and internal drive to produce results
