Duties
- Develop precise 3D models and assemblies using NX CAD software, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
- Create detailed technical drawings, schematics, and system designs in compliance with ASME codes & standards.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and project teams to translate conceptual ideas into manufacturable designs.
- Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to specify tolerances and ensure functional fit.
- Integrate design data with other CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, and Pro/ENGINEER for comprehensive project workflows.
- Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) simulations to validate structural integrity and performance of designs.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and schematics supporting manufacturing, construction, or system installation processes.
- Review design iterations, perform assembly checks, and optimize for manufacturability and efficiency.
- Assist in 2D animation or visualization tasks to communicate complex concepts clearly to stakeholders.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a CAD Designer specializing in NX CAD or similar software within mechanical engineering or construction environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in system design, drafting, assembly processes, and technical writing.
- Hands-on experience with CAD tools including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, or Pro/ENGINEER is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or mechanical components.
- Familiarity with schematics creation for systems or electrical/mechanical integration projects.
- Experience conducting FEA simulations to analyze stress points and optimize mechanical components.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and documenting design processes effectively.
