The Financial Analyst position will report into the Vice President of Finance & Strategic Planning. The ideal candidate will embrace the opportunity to diversify their skillset through new challenges while balancing recurring deliverables. This platform requires optimal interpersonal and leadership skills as the candidate will work closely with senior leaders across Popular Bank.
In This Position, You Will
Our base salary for this position located in New York City generally ranges between $85,000.00 and $100,000.00 annually, depending on business need and on your qualifications and experience. Base salary does not include incentive compensation, commission, or any other type of remuneration or benefits.
In addition to salary, Popular's well-rounded benefits package for regular full-time and part-time employees includes a comprehensive health plan, flexible time off options, and savings and investment plans. Seasonal/temporary employees are not eligible for these benefits.
Important: The candidate must provide evidence of academic preparation or courses related to the job posting, if necessary.
Our hybrid work model benefit applies to certain positions and is subject to changes based on the organizational needs.

In This Position, You Will
- Generate & maintain recurring business management/ financial reporting in a timely manner to help the business better understand and manage its costs, risks, capital usage, pricing, growth opportunities, etc.
- Prepare variance explanations for monthly and quarterly closing.
- Conduct Ad-hoc financial and business management analysis.
- Prepare & develop monthly in-depth business reviews in partnership with manager and regional analysts as required
- Analyze and report on client, segment, region, and product profitability.
- Maintain and proactively drive improvement in existing financial planning models and processes.
- Calculate commissions and conduct KPI related analysis.
- Bachelor's degree required
- 1-3 years of experience as a Financial Analyst or experience in the financial services industry
- Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
- Adept presentation skills with an ability to target messaging to different audiences.
- Exceptional organizational skills and an ability to oversee multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines.
- Able to articulate complex issues and themes to stakeholders
- Ability to connect the dots and make sense of information across multiple data points upstream/downstream that many not be easily noticeable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high attention to detail
- Confidence to interact directly with Senior Management Team members
