Medical Payment Poster
Location: In-person
Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Pay: $20.00–$25.00 per hour (based on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Payment Poster to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately posting payments, adjustments, and denials from insurance companies and patients, ensuring all transactions are recorded promptly and correctly.
Key Responsibilities
- Post insurance and patient payments, denials, and adjustments to patient accounts accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile daily deposits, payment batches, and electronic remittance advice (ERA) files.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies, overpayments, and unapplied payments.
- Work with insurance companies and internal billing staff to clarify payment issues or missing information.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of all payment posting activities.
- Assist in month-end closing by ensuring all payments are recorded and balanced.
- Support billing staff by providing payment data needed for claim follow-ups and appeals.
- Stay informed about payer rules, payment posting procedures, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical payment posting or medical billing.
- Strong understanding of EOBs (Explanation of Benefits), ERAs, and insurance payment processes.
- Proficient in EMR and billing systems for payment posting.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with CentralReach is strongly preferred but not required.
