Custodian - Facilities

Salary Range $20.00 - $21.50 per hour

Summary / Objective

The Custodian position is vital to the overall cleanliness and first impression of the Guests. Our Custodian staff is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the interior and exterior of our building.  This position works primarily during the weekends from 6:00 am to 11:00 am.

Essential Functions

• Keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
• Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Service, clean, and supply all restrooms.
• Clean and maintain kitchen and dish areas, floors, walls, and drains.
• Pick up trash/litter in parking lot.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean and maintain all windows, lamps, mirrors, and light fixtures.
• Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.
• Mix water and detergents/acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company Team Members to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate that will be conducive to maximum Team Member morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.
• Reply promptly to questions or tasks given by the Facilities Manager.
• Must demonstrate ability to clearly communicate with Guests and another Team Members.
• Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition.
• Inventory and keep checklists of all tools. Use checkout sheet when using a tool.
• Be knowledgeable of Facility policies regarding personnel and communicate promptly any violations of company policies, rules, and procedures.
• Maintain company safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards for entire building.
• Have strong communication skills.
• Uphold the culture and standards of Santa Rosa Entertainment Company, LLC.
• Work hard to identify potential problems and communicate with supervisors and management to help prevent them from having an impact on guest experience.
• Maintain proper stock of supplies, communicating needs or shortages with management.
• Ability to grasp, lift, reach, crouch, stand, walk, and carry for long periods of time.
• A positive attitude.
• Other duties as directed.

Work Environment

This job operates in a building wide capacity. This role routinely uses electrical equipment, sharp knives, and other potentially dangerous equipment. Proper training will be given prior to using any dangerous equipment. Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, and cleaning chemicals.

Physical Demands

The employee is required to stand 100% of their shift, climb or balance; and stoop or kneel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, using proper lifting procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Have the ability to reach, bend, stoop, mop, sweep and clean frequently.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Possess strong organizational and decision-making skills.
• Work well in fast-paced setting.
• At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual a plus.
