What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Dishwasher/Food Prep position at Poorman’s Restaurant?
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Food Prep/Dishwasher. This position plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen by ensuring food is prepared efficiently and the work environment remains clean, safe, and organized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic food preparation (washing, chopping, portioning ingredients)
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including counters, sinks, floors, and storage areas
- Properly handle and store food and cleaning supplies according to safety guidelines
- Assist kitchen staff with stocking supplies and unloading deliveries
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
- Perform other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or supervisor
Qualifications:
- Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
- Team-oriented and reliable with good communication skills
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and handle repetitive tasks
Work Schedule:
- 10am to 3pm schedule on weekends, and holidays as needed
