Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service throughout their shopping journey
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods with accuracy and integrity
- Assist with product demos and upselling to promote featured items and increase sales
- Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, including stocking shelves and merchandising displays
- Support inventory management by stocking shelves, checking product availability, and participating in stock counts
- Use strong communication skills to answer customer questions via phone or in person while maintaining excellent phone etiquette
Requirements
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery store environments
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transactions
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in guiding team members or assisting during busy periods
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional communication style
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced retail setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking procedures, and retail math principles
