Overview
The DS Companies is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our pool construction and small construction teams. In this role, you will be the driving force behind accurate project cost assessments, ensuring bids are competitive and profitable. Your expertise will help shape successful projects from initial concept through to completion, providing vital support in budgeting, pricing, procurement and contract negotiations. Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates for several project types including indoor/outdoor pools and construction with and without blueprint specifications depending on workload.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing information and negotiate terms that align with project goals.
- Develop comprehensive cost models covering labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs to ensure precise budgeting.
- Monitor project budgets throughout the bidding process and during project execution to maintain cost control and identify potential overruns early.
- Review contracts and scope of work documents to ensure all aspects of the project are accurately reflected in estimates.
- Assist in the development of bid proposals, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and competitiveness for each project opportunity.
- Stay current with industry trends, material prices, labor rates, and construction regulations to provide up-to-date estimates that reflect market conditions.
Skills
- Proficiency in construction estimating software required, experience in estimating pool construction a plus.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing and contract terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Extensive knowledge of construction estimating processes, including cost control methods, pricing strategies and take-off procedures.
- Hands-on construction site experience coupled with a solid understanding of construction management principles.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications with precision.
- Excellent project management skills to coordinate multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Familiarity with contracts, scope of work documentation, and legal considerations related to construction projects.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
