Our Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy practice represents lenders and creditors both inside and outside the bankruptcy courts. We regularly handle matters involving Chapter 7, Chapter 11, debt restructurings and workouts, commercial loan disputes, receiverships, relief from stay litigation, creditor committee representation, confirmation disputes, fraudulent transfer litigation, preference actions, and other contested bankruptcy matters.


What You'll Handle

  • Represent clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11, and related bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Handle adversary proceedings and contested matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other bankruptcy court filings.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare litigation strategy memoranda.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and bankruptcy court proceedings.
  • Manage discovery and all phases of litigation.
  • Communicate directly with clients, trustees, opposing counsel, and the Court.
  • Work collaboratively with partners and other attorneys on complex commercial litigation matters.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active Georgia Bar membership in good standing
  • Minimum 5 years of bankruptcy litigation experience on the creditor side
  • Demonstrated courtroom and adversary proceeding experience
  • Familiarity with the Northern District of Georgia Bankruptcy Court strongly preferred
  • Sharp written and oral advocacy — you can argue a motion and write a brief
  • Ability to manage a complex docket with minimal handholding

Salary : $150,000 - $200,000
