We are seeking a skilled and reliable Pool Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, cleaning, and servicing commercial swimming pools to ensure water quality, cleanliness, and safe operation. The Pool Technician will work directly with customers to provide exceptional service and support, ensuring that pools are functioning at optimal levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Routine Pool Maintenance:
- Clean and vacuum pool surfaces, removing debris and leaves.
- Empty pool skimmer baskets and clean pool filters.
- Scrub pool walls, tiles, and steps to prevent algae growth.
- Maintain proper water chemistry by testing and adjusting pH, chlorine, alkalinity, and other chemical levels.
- Apply chemicals as needed to ensure water balance and sanitation.
Pool Equipment Inspection & Maintenance:
- Inspect pool equipment (pumps, heaters, filters, etc.) for proper operation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot pool equipment issues; recommend repairs or replacements when necessary.
Customer Service:
- Provide expert advice on pool care and maintenance.
- Ensure that all services are performed in a professional, timely, and safe manner.
Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols while handling chemicals and operating pool equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment and tools.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, including health and safety standards.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain detailed service logs and records for each pool, including dates of service, chemicals used, and any repairs or issues encountered.
- Report any major issues or repairs needed to management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a pool technician or in a similar role (1-2 years preferred).
- Knowledge of pool maintenance equipment, chemicals, and cleaning methods.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate service records.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Certification in pool maintenance or water chemistry (preferred but not required).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment and chemicals.
- Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
