What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restaurant Line Cook/Prep Cook position at Pontchartrain Po-Boys?
The restaurant Line Cook/Prep Cook will play a key role in preparing and organizing ingredients, maintaining sanitation standards, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations within a small team focused on Fried Seafood, Po-Boys, Burgers, Salad and Plate Specials. This position involves working Monday through Friday for a daily 9-10 hour shift without late nights, weekend, or major holiday duties, providing a balanced work schedule in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and meals according to established recipes
- Manage inventory and monitor ingredient freshness
- Set up assigned stations for efficient service
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen
- Coordinate orders to support timely meal preparation
- Collaborate with a small kitchen team to ensure quality and efficiency
- Monitor quality control to maintain consistent food standards
Preferred Qualifications
- must be available Monday through Friday from 9am to 7:30pm
- 2 years of experience in culinary arts
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of food safety practices
- Strong time management and attention to detail
- Effective teamwork and communication skills
***Pay is based on experience and is hourly plus tips
