Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our team. The Kennel Assistant will be responsible for providing care and support to animals in our facility, ensuring their well-being and comfort.
Duties
- Assist with feeding, exercising, and bathing animals
- Clean and maintain pet suites
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the management staff
- Provide basic socialization for dogs, play group
- Assist with administering medications
- Interact with pet owners, providing excellent customer service and answering inquiries about their pets
Skills
- Experience working in a kennel or animal care environment is preferred
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
- Capable of lifting heavy objects, minimum 50 lbs and restraining animals when necessary
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Knowledge of pet care practices and basic grooming techniques is a plus
- Familiarity as a veterinary assistant or technician would be beneficial
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
