Position Purpose
Klamath Falls City Schools is seeking student-centered, relationship-driven individuals to serve as Student Success Specialists at schools implementing enhanced student support and
instructional systems.
The Student Success Specialist plays a key role in helping create safe, structured, and
supportive school environments where teaching and learning can happen consistently every
day. This position is designed to:
- Support positive student behavior
- Strengthen student engagement and attendance
- Reduce classroom disruptions
- Remove non-instructional barriers that impact teaching and learning
Student Success Specialists work closely with school administrators, teachers, counselors, office staff, and families to provide proactive student support while helping maintain consistent schoolwide systems and routines.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or adolescents preferred
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed practices
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree or college coursework preferred
- Current First Aid/CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain
- Must meet all district employment requirements
- Must obtain and maintain Food Handler’s license
Performance Responsibilities
Exact responsibilities will be assigned by the Building Administrator.
Student Support & Behavior Systems
- Respond to minor student behavior concerns and support restorative practices
- Conduct restorative conversations and problem-solving with students
- Assist with Tier 2 behavioral interventions and student support plans
- Facilitate student check-ins and relationship-building supports
- Support small group social-emotional learning (SEL) activities
- Assist students in developing positive behavioral and self-regulation skills
Schoolwide Supervision & Safety
- Support structured hallway supervision and transitions
- Assist with arrival and dismissal supervision
- Support lunch and recess supervision
- Help maintain safe, orderly, and positive school environments
- Assist administrators with monitoring schoolwide expectations and routines
Attendance & Family Support
- Conduct attendance follow-up and family outreach
- Support parent communication and student success planning
- Assist with re-engagement of students experiencing attendance or behavioral concerns
- Collaborate with counselors, administrators, and teachers to support student success
Instructional Support Systems
- Support systems that maximize instructional time and minimize disruptions
- Assist with daily classroom setup and preparation
- Ensure instructional materials and classroom supports are prepared and organized
- Help facilitate Team Rooms and enrichment/support spaces for students
- Support systems that allow students removed from class to continue participating in
- instruction
Office, Health, and Nutrition Support
- Support the Head Secretary with daily office operations, clerical tasks, student records, attendance processes, and communication with families and staff
- Administer approved medications and provide first aid to sick and/or injured students in accordance with district policies, procedures, and training requirements
- Maintain accurate records related to student health services, medications, and incident reporting as required
- Monitor and support student health needs throughout the school day and communicate concerns to appropriate staff and families
- Assist food service staff as needed to support meal service operations, student supervision during meal periods, and other nutrition program activities
- Provide general office coverage and support during high-demand periods or staff absences
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the school

- staff, and support personnel

Terms of Employment
- Work year and salary placement in accordance with district-approved schedules and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
- Reports to the Building Principal or designee.
- Position may be assigned duties across student support, office operations, health services support, and schoolwide supervision based on building needs.
