Workers’ Compensation Paralegal
Pond Lehocky Giordano seeks a Legal Paralegal to join our highly successful workers’ compensation team in our Seattle, WA office. As a nationally recognized law firm focused on workers’ compensation, Social Security disability, employment, and long-term disability law, our team is dedicated to advocating for injured and disabled workers and delivering exceptional client service.
The employee will need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have a strong ability to multitask, be a team player, and maintain a positive attitude. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who demonstrates empathy for our clients and provides excellent customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities—including but not limited to:
- Prepare for all hearings, mediations, and fact witness depositions (including preparation of exhibits)
- Review Stipulations
- Review workers’ compensation calculations and benefits documentation
- Review daily checks (fees, costs)
- Attend paralegal team meetings via Teams
- Draft letters and legal documents
- Answer calls from adjusters, opposing counsel, clients, and healthcare providers
- Handle daily uploading and obtaining of relevant case information from Washington workers’ compensation systems and internal case management systems
- Enter attorney appearances and file documents with the appropriate Washington workers’ compensation courts/systems
- Answer attorney direct line and monitor email; serve as liaison between attorney and clients by resolving routine and some complex inquiries
- Prepare responses to counsel, adjusters, and judges
- Scan documents into client files
- Schedule client appointments and/or telephone conferences
- Maintain client files in case management system, updating information as necessary
- Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a paralegal role required
- Minimum 1–2 years of Washington Workers’ Compensation experience strongly preferred
- College degree or paralegal certificate preferred
- Experience with Litify Case Management preferred
