Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• As the company grows, the PMO Manager will also serve as Project Manager for selected strategic, complex, or high-priority pipeline projects and will have a utilization target
• Assigns, leads, mentors, and supports Proposal Managers and Project Managers, monitors performance, and promotes accountability, professional development, and consistent proposal and project delivery.
• Ensures a Proposal Manager is assigned to each new opportunity and oversees proposal planning, execution, quality, and transition to project delivery.
• Leads selected strategic, complex, or high-priority proposal efforts and provides guidance and support to Proposal Managers.
• Utilizes and maintains project management standards, processes, tools, templates, and reporting practices.
• Oversees project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, quality, risks, client satisfaction, and overall performance.
• Works directly with the Project Controls Manager to monitor project cost health, forecasts, budgets, schedules, and financial performance.
• Reviews project status reports, forecasts, and change orders.
• Maintains performance metrics for executive leadership.
• Supports resource planning, staffing capacity, project prioritization, and workload balancing.
• Provides escalation support for project risks, scope changes, performance concerns, and client issues.
• Serves as Project Manager for selected strategic, complex, or high-priority projects based on business needs.
• Leads project kickoff meetings, status reviews, lessons-learned sessions, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Promotes consistent use of project management, financial, document-control, and collaboration systems.
• Supports recruiting, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and development of Project Managers.
• Maintains periodic engagement with key clients and supports client relationship management, issue resolution, and identification of follow-on opportunities as needed.
• Collaborates with Engineering Managers, technical leaders, and executive leadership to support business and operational objectives.
• Ensures compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, quality standards, and applicable health and safety practices.
• Performs other duties as company needs dictate.
  
  

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position provides direct supervision and functional leadership to Project Managers. Responsibilities include assigning work, monitoring performance, coaching, supporting professional development, and contributing to performance reviews.

Qualifications

The successful candidate is organized, analytical, detail oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities. The individual must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, financial, and client-service skills.

Education And Experience

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management, program management, operations, or a related professional-services environment, including experience leading or mentoring Project Managers. Experience in the architecture, engineering, construction, environmental, or consulting industry is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, And Technical Skills

PMP, PgMP, or another recognized project management credential preferred. Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, or equivalent industry credential may be preferred based on project requirements. Valid driver’s license required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management, resource planning, financial tracking, CRM, collaboration, and document-control systems required. Familiarity with Deltek or similar professional-services software is preferred.

Work Environment and Travel

The position is primarily office based and requires regular computer use. Occasional travel to client meetings, project sites, company meetings, conferences, and other off-site events may be required. Field visits may require appropriate safety equipment.
