About the PositionWe are searching for an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our growing team in Atlanta, GA (Peachtree Corners, Cobb County, or Mid-Town), Jacksonville, FL, or Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate possesses 5 years of related experience and wants to grow, collaborate, and innovate. In this position, the successful candidate will perform field investigations (e.g., wetland delineations, protected species surveys, erosion compliance inspections), regulatory permitting, and technical document preparation for clients across the United States. The successful candidate will also ideally hold professional certifications such as Professional Wetland Scientist, Professional Wildlife Biologist, or Certified Ecologist. Projects span renewable energy, transportation, oil & gas, and federal sectors—offering the opportunity to broaden expertise across disciplines and markets. We are seeking someone who can be an independent self-starter.
Experience and Qualifications
BS in relevant environmental discipline
Professional certifications such as Professional Wetland Scientist, Professional Wildlife Biologist, or Certified Ecologist (preferred)
5 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or regulatory roles
Experience leading ecological field tasks such as:
Jurisdictional wetland/water delineations
Threatened/endangered species habitat assessments & surveys
NPDES/erosion compliance inspections
Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments
Familiarity with federal/state/local environmental permitting and mitigation strategies
Strong understanding of Southeastern U.S. ecosystems, flora/fauna, and regulatory frameworks
Proficient with GIS and mapping software
Excellent technical writing and communication skills; able to produce clean, complete, and accurate documentation
Experience with GDOT, renewable energy, transportation, or federal projects (preferred)
Able and willing to travel to project sites, including overnight stays and work in challenging field conditions (e.g., steep terrain, thick vegetation, inclement weather)
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage project schedules and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
