The role strengthens the organization’s public presence while ensuring community needs, priorities, and perspectives are integrated into strategic decision-making. The Community Affairs drives referrals to our retail teams and our lending teams.
Responsibilities
The Community Affairs Manager leads all Community Affairs events, activities, and sponsorships that support Ponce Bank’s mission. The role oversees departmental operations, manages incoming community requests from intake through execution, and ensures alignment with organizational goals. It provides comprehensive support to the VP, Director of External Affairs and offers organized, proactive administrative and communication support to the department.
This role requires participation in evening and weekend events as part of ongoing community engagement and representation.
Essential Functions
All Bank employees must complete required regulatory compliance training and any courses specific to their job functions. Additional professional development and career-enhancement courses are available through the Bank's training and management.
Physical Demands
This role is primarily sedentary and performed in an office environment during regular business hours. Occasional lifting of files or materials up to 20 lbs. may be required. The position involves frequent interaction with internal staff, customers, and community members, and therefore requires consistent positive and professional engagement with the public.
Requirements
Education/Training
Bachelor's or master's degree. Relevant experience in Business, Community Affairs, Communications, Public Relations, Equivalent work experience will be considered.

A minimum of 5-10 years of related experience preferred

$90,000-95,000

- Maintain a database of community organizations and contacts.
- Identify public relations and storytelling opportunities that highlight community impact.
- Measure community impact through event participation.
- Deliver monthly reports summarizing engagement metrics and insights.
- Ensure all activities align with organizational goals and regulatory expectations.
- Ensure adherence to Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Provide cross-functional support to other areas of the Bank as needed.
- Perform additional duties that support the essential functions of the role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
