Returns Specialist
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and exceptionally detail-oriented Returns Specialist to join our team. This position is critical to maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring every returned item is thoroughly inspected, documented, and processed correctly. The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for detail, takes pride in accuracy, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where precision is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and process customer returns accurately and efficiently
- Carefully examine each returned item for condition, completeness, damage, signs of wear, and authenticity
- Verify returned merchandise against original orders and return documentation
- Accurately enter return information into inventory and order management systems
- Determine the appropriate disposition of returned items, including restocking, repair, refurbishment, or disposal
- Report discrepancies, missing items, damaged merchandise, or potential fraud
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure inventory adjustments are completed correctly
- Organize and maintain the returns area to ensure an efficient workflow
- Work closely with customer service, warehouse, and management to resolve return-related issues
- Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements to reduce return errors
Qualifications:
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify even minor discrepancies
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent computer and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain confidentiality
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Reliable, dependable, and committed to producing high-quality work
- Ability to lift and move packages as needed
- Previous experience in returns processing, inventory control, quality assurance, logistics, or warehouse operations is preferred
