Finance Analyst Job Summary:
Pompeian Olive Oil is actively recruiting for a Finance Analyst to join the Finance team at corporate headquarters in Baltimore on Pulaski highway. This role will focus on furthering the development of the Commercial Finance function and Supply Chain expense optimization. Working alongside the Senior Commercial Finance Manager, the Analyst will collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Accounting, and Supply Chain teams to ensure proper tracking of promotions, analyze forecasting, and develop efficient use of trade funds amongst other ad hoc requests. This is a hybrid role with room for growth and opportunity. The role will report to the Senior Commercial Finance Manager. All candidates must live in the following states in order to be considered for the role; Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Finance Analyst Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or related discipline
- 2-3 years of progressive related work experience in Accounting or Finance related role
- Ability to partner with key personnel across Sales & Marketing functions
- Working knowledge of financial statements such as Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet required
- Familiarity with CPG, retail grocery industry customer base preferred
- Strong working knowledge of computer systems and software applications
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks with a keen eye for details and a passion to produce results
- Ability to trouble shoot and develop solutions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn CPG finance

Finance Analyst Responsibilities:
- Finance Analyst will use existing Trade Fund planning tools (Blue Planner), work directly with sales Business Unit Managers to provide analysis and approval on trade investments
- Analyst will build detailed price and cost justifications for new Pompeian branded items while partnering with Sr Commercial Finance Manager serving as a financial advisor to the sales team, ensuring continued market share growth
- Assist with Private Label bids including cost builds, approved logistics costs, review pricing prior to submissions and entering bids in coordination with business partners in Spain
- Finance Analyst will perform post promotional analysis to determine Return on Investment (ROI) and recommend changes within the business
- Finance Analyst will concisely present data/analysis and clearly articulate insights and recommendations to influence future promotions and use trade analytics (promotion ROI analysis) to ensure efficient allocation of trade spend
- Review current sales Forecast and Budget to ensure it is planned in line with trends and promotional strategy and provide insight to improve accuracy
- Develops proforma financial models upon request to evaluate Sales and Marketing activity
- Review of cost center spending versus budget/forecast for both Sales and Marketing
- Lead Ad-Hoc projects to enhance Pompeian’s growth and improve work efficiency
- Ensure all projects comply with environmental regulations, and company environmental goals
- Perform duties and tasks per Pompeian’s mission, goals and core values
- All other duties as assigned or directed by Manager
