What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prepress Graphic Designer position at Polyvision Corporation?
This role will be crucial in developing and executing our visual communication strategy across various platforms. Graphic Designer will be responsible for multiple creative projects, from crafting marketing collateral and presentations to designing websites, videos, and 3D visuals. The designer will be responsible for pre-press activities directly related to custom and printed products and projects. The Graphic Designer will work closely with the Product Marketing, Content Creation, other Graphic Designer, Sales and Operations to complete their tasks.
Essential Functions- (Roles and Responsibilities of the Position)
Responsibilities:
Conceptualize and create compelling visual content, including marketing materials, videos, websites, 3D models, and more.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure project success on time and within budget.
Understand brand guidelines and translate business goals into impactful visual narratives.
Design and manage visual assets for facilities, events and trade shows.
Maintain and update internal design databases.
Possess a strong understanding of current design trends and technologies.
Pre-press, preparing digital files for printing, including color correction, image manipulation, imposition, proofing, and creating print-ready files.
Preflight electronic files received from clients to determine accuracy, omissions, or additional requirements regarding fonts, colors, sizing and resolution and report any issues to management and customer service
Adjust files to match customer specifications for size, content, and quality
Generate digital proofs as needed.
Produce and add required post-production machining layers such as cut lines.
Create proofs of final artwork for customer approval
Set up approved artwork for output on various digital printing presses
Understanding how to manipulate and layout digital files based on fractions and precise measurements is required.
Ensure the printer operators have all necessary information prior to printing.
Create digital cut files for digital cutting machines.
Revise existing print and cut files as required.
Support printer and cutter operators as required to resolve ripped file issues.
Assist with maintaining artwork files and updated templates.
Work within organizational guidelines for file structure including save location, naming convention and file size
Handle the transfer of files from one press to another, including color matching, custom color creation, and set up.
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
