Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Production Trader located in Jersey City, NJ. You will supervise the automated trading systems and respond to market and system events in real time. The role includes analyzing market conditions, collaborating with the Portfolio Manager to enhance trading performance, and maintaining a thorough understanding of trading platforms and tools. You will also play an integral role in maintaining operational risk standards and compliance.

This seat is designed as an entry point: candidates who demonstrate strong judgment and technical aptitude will have a clear path to grow into more senior trading, research, or strategy development roles.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with the trading team to operate and implement trading strategies
- Launching, supervising, and shutting down Polytope's trading activities on global markets
- Triaging real-time alerts and coordinating with the trading and engineering teams to resolve production issues
- Coordinating with risk, operations, and compliance to assess live trading and respond to unusual market behavior
- Flagging real-time alerts and working with the trading to team to resolve issues in real time
- Documenting, monitoring procedures, and logging production issues as they occur
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field (computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or similar)
- Working knowledge of one or more of the following asset classes: digital assets, equities, futures, options, FX
- Experience with trading systems, execution workflows, and risk monitoring
- Familiarity with high-frequency trading concepts and the operational demands of low-latency systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to act decisively under pressure
- Clear written and verbal communication, with a collaborative approach to working alongside trading and technology teams
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Able to work on flexible hours and provide weekend and public holiday coverage on a rotation basis
- Familiarity with UNIX, python, and SQL (C is a plus, but not required)
- Prior experience in algorithmic trading or execution trading is a plus
