Position: Assistant Girls' Tennis Coach

Responsibilities

Polytechnic School seeks a passionate and dedicated Assistant Girls' Tennis Coach to support and develop our girls' tennis program. The coach will train student-athletes, develop match strategies, promote teamwork, and foster a positive and competitive environment. The ideal candidate should have experience in coaching or competing in team and singles tennis matches, possess strong leadership skills, and be committed to athletes' physical and personal development.

Terms of employment: Contract

Season: Fall (August - November)

Practices: Monday through Friday, 3:45 to 5:30 p.m.

Contests: Times vary

Compensation: $20 - $23/hr

Physical requirements and work environment 

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. 
• Strong leadership, motivational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of training techniques, race strategies, and injury prevention.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Previous high school coaching or equivalent;

• Ability to supervise student-athletes;
• Driver’s license, insurance, and ability to drive school vans;
• CPR certification (provided by Polytechnic School Athletic Department);
• Completion of CIF Coaches Principal Course, NFHS Concussion Course, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest Course, NFHS Heat Illness Prevention (provided by Polytechnic School Athletic Department);
• Instill the values of good character and fair play, while also serving as a positive role model.

• Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and conducting practices and games.
   
• Help develop athletes' skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and discipline.
   
• Support the implementation of game strategies and assist with in-game decisions.
   
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and other team activities.
   
• Encourage academic success and model positive behavior on and off the field/court.
   
• Help manage equipment, uniforms, and facilities.
   
• Maintain open and effective communication with athletes, parents, and school staff.
   
• Uphold all school, district, and state athletic policies and guidelines.

Salary : $20 - $23
