SUMMARY

Perform analysis of PTS, Inc. products and devices from incoming, in-process, and final production using whole blood, control and/or reference materials.  With regards to this position, the Quality Control Technician is responsible to ensure that each production run, lot, or batch of finished product meets acceptance criteria.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process and perform analysis of PTS test strips using whole blood and control materials.
  • Perform final Quality Control testing of PTS analyzers.
  • Inspect incoming materials including PTS labeling and test strips.
  • Generate reports, and/or charts using Microsoft Word and/or Microsoft Excel.
  • Capture and record test data utilizing Quality Control procedures.
  • Perform general cleaning, daily and/or preventive maintenance as assigned.
  • Assist in performance of other laboratory experiments and validation activities as required.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.  

  • Operation of:
  • Eppendorf and Volumetric Pipettes
  • Analytical Balances
  • Good keyboarding skills and ability to generate reports using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

  • Associate degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related life sciences is preferred 
  • Minimum of four (4) years laboratory related experience and/or training preferred  
  • Experience operating clinical laboratory analyzers is preferred
  • Venipuncture experience or phlebotomy certification preferred, but not required
  • Experience handling blood borne pathogens is required
  • Or, equivalent combination of education and experience

Individual works in a typical laboratory environment. Lab coat, safety glasses, and gloves are required when performing test procedures.
