What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Manager position at Polymer Conversions, Inc.?
Summary of Function:
The Plant Manager is responsible for managing work orders through on-time delivery to the customers (both internal and external). This position will lead and control all aspects of the Production departments including planning, scheduling, equipment, staff, capacity, quality, training and problem solving as well as meet all relevant key metrics and corporate goals.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Process and productivity improvement
2. Work with internal departments to accomplish product launch activities
3. Plan, organize, staff and direct the Production department to produce the required quality and quantity of
4. products which meet all specifications according to production schedules and established labor standards
5. Must operate within departmental budgets to accomplish company objectives
6. Must be able to resolve situations quickly, both customer/production related as well as staff related
7. Ensure ISO and GMPs are followed in a clean room environment
8. Responsible for training and competency of all staff
9. Responsible to achieve all company goals and objectives in a timely fashion
10. Responsible for maintaining and improving employee morale
11. Complete payroll for staff (timecard approvals, PTO approvals/ denials, etc.)
12. Accountable for ensuring plant safety, regulatory compliance, and adherence to all environmental and quality standards
Organizational Relationships:
The Plant Manager will directly report to the Vice President of Operations. There will be daily interaction with Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Finance, and Warehousing departments.
Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
· 5 plus years’ experience in a n operations-management or similar environment required
· Strong communication and teamwork skills required
· Strong analytical skills required
· Strong leadership skills required
· An orientation towards process improvements required
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and ERP systems, IQMS preferred
· Understanding of ISO and GMP regulations/requirements preferred
· APICS certification preferred
· Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
