Polymer Concepts Technologies PBY, Inc. KRS Division dba Kaydon Ring & Seal (“KRS”) is responsible for Aerospace and Industrial applications. KRS has a customer portfolio that includes all major players in the Aerospace and Industrial industries. Our business is fully customer focused, with products specifically designed for an engine/airframe application and then produced in small quantities and small lots on highly flexible equipment. Extreme product range fragmentation, complex product design, very high-quality standards and traceability requirements are the peculiarity of KRS.
We are now hiring a Journeyman Machinist to join our team in Hanover, PA! The Journeyman Machinist will be a 1st shift position, working M-F, 7A-3P
Job Summary: To support the Sealing Rings Department as a journeyman machinist.
Essential Job Functions includes and are not limited to:
- Follows all safety and quality policies.
- Follows Company rules/policies.
- Communicates with supervision on regular basis.
- Maintain clean and orderly work area and equipment.
- Assists with the planning and scheduling of department.
- Able to complete the essential functions of all sealing ring department jobs.
- Follow up to see that assignments are completed, and check performance to assure that work is being done properly and efficiently within specification limits.
- Make set ups and adjustments on a variety of parts with lathes, mills, drills, burring machines, end clearance machines, grinders and hyprolaps to machine sides, I.D., O.D. and joints of rings.
- Change chucks, fixtures, gears, tools, cups, grinding wheels, etc.; set tools and attachments as required.
- Determine sequence of jobs following daily schedule. Advise supervisor of material or tooling needs, safety concerns or problems and unusual situations.
- Control and edit NC and CNC programs as needed.
- Trains and develops employees.
- Executes activities that reduce scrap, improve productivity, and support overall departmental business objectives.
- Troubleshoots departmental issues relating to quality, performance, or throughput.
- Maintain records and paperwork.
- Engages in continuous improvement activities.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
EQUIPMENT USED – Includes and is not limited to all equipment, tools, and instruments within the Sealing Rings Department.
Job Requirements:
- HSD or GED.
- Journeyman machinist card.
- Must meet requirements for Export Control / ITAR Compliance (see Export Control / ITAR Compliance section for details).
- Solid understanding of reading and interpreting blueprints.
Physical Requirements:
- Safety sensitive role.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Favorable pre-employment screening results.
