Polycase is looking for a CAD Technician to join our engineering team and rapidly growing business. A CAD Technician will work with a variety of customer submitted designs to ensure manufacturability with accuracy and efficiency. This position involves communicating directly with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing personnel. A successful candidate will have experience with CAD, the ability to manage time effectively, work independently and as part of an engineering team. Essential Functions
- Read and interpret customer drawings and requirements
- Create 3D solid models based on customer specifications
- Create fully annotated engineering drawings
- Communicate with customers to ensure products are delivered on time and as expected
- Provide support guidance to manufacturing personnel to ensure design intent is achieved
- Create Bills of Material and manufacturing routings for new designs
- Assist operations and engineering group to refine manufacturing standards
- Participate in continuous improvement projects
- Understanding the quoting process and able to update existing quotes
- Provide technical support for customers including enclosure selection and capability of our services
Position Requirements
- CAD certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient in 3D CAD (Solidworks) and 2D CAD experience
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator or creating vector graphics
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Provide technical support for customers including enclosure selection and capability of our services
Additional Skills Preferred
- Familiarity with graphic design software
- Understanding of CNC milling with hands on experience
- Proficiency inspecting parts using calipers, height gauges, measuring devices, etc.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes (injection molding, vertical CNC milling, etc.)
- Strong ability to prioritize while remaining detail oriented
