Description of IT Support Technician
As an IT Technician, your primary responsibility is to provide maintenance of the computer environment by resolving computer issues, set-up and maintaining user’s profiles and policies, installing software and hardware solutions. Responsible for the administrative and internal support of the Company’s PCs, printers, servers and other related equipment. Tasks may also include user support, license tracking, and preforming PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction.
- Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk.
- Monitor Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process first-in first-out based on priority.
- Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstation.
- Utilize and maintain the helpdesk tracking software.
- Document internal procedures.
- Assist with onboarding of new users.
- Ensure each workstation has a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, and any additional specialized equipment.
- Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software.
- Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses.
- All other duties as assigned.
Preferable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Minimum of two years hardware/software/network/server experience.
- Strong knowledge of desktops, laptops, servers, and networks.
- Demonstrated ability in complex issue resolution with a proven troubleshooting methodology.
- Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.
- Experience with Active Directory.
- Experience with VMWare/Virtual environments.
- Helpdesk experience supporting remote users a plus.
- Strong communication skills.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Required: High School Diploma and 1 years of experience
Preferred: Associates degree or higher in an IT related field.
Environmental Requirements:
Must be able to adapt to multiple indoor work environments (shared office space, shared lab space and production areas).

Lifting as required with proper lifting techniques up to 50 pounds on occasion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
