Role Description The Jeweler role at Polly’s Fine Jewelry is a full-time, on-site position. This role involves performing jewelry repair, resizing, stone setting, soldering, and polishing to company quality standards. The Jeweler will inspect and evaluate customer pieces, recommend appropriate services, and execute repairs and custom work in collaboration with sales and design teams. Daily responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized bench, caring for tools and equipment, and ensuring all work is completed safely and on schedule.
Qualifications
- Strong jewelry design and custom creation skills, including stone setting and metalwork.
- Excellent customer service abilities, with a focus on clear communication and a welcoming, professional demeanor.
- Expertise in jewelry polishing, finishing, and repair techniques to restore and enhance fine and fashion pieces.
- Knowledge of fashion jewelry trends and the ability to collaborate with sales staff on style and design recommendations.
- Experience providing training or mentoring to junior bench jewelers or sales team members on jewelry care and basics.
- Attention to detail, strong manual dexterity, and the ability to work accurately with small components and precious materials.
- Prior experience as a bench jeweler or in a fine jewelry environment; formal training or certification in jewelry arts is a plus.
- Reliability in meeting deadlines, following safety protocols, and maintaining organized workspaces and documentation.
