Security Officer

We’re looking for attentive and responsible Security Officer to join our Security team team within our Ypsilanti Plant at 775 James L Hart Parkway.

This position is responsible for enforcing policies and procedures relative to the safety and security of company property and personnel, monitoring building entrances and exits as well as building grounds, reporting violations, fire, accident, theft, and vandalism, and assisting with the various day to day security issues for the facility. This position supports the Security Lead as needed.

What You'll Do

• Secure and safeguard personnel and property through observant and visual uniform patrols
• Conduct security alarm and equipment checks, emergency evacuation assists, key, locker, and parking permit control; maintain lost and found, manage identification badges, conduct escorts, and control visitor sign in registers.
• Document violations of company policy, state law, safety procedures, security incidents, and medical emergencies
• Contact emergency services for the applicable need and to notify the Security Manager on significant incidents.
• Maintain card reader access system to control access and detect unauthorized attempts into building and restricted area.
• Maintain CCTV camera system to monitor critical areas and ensure recorded documentation of all areas being monitored.
• Maintain record of daily activities by generating reports and emails to pass on information.
• Report all violations, accidents and incidents discovered with written, visual, and oral documentation to the applicable members of management.
• Aid employees, customers, contractors, visitors, vendors directly and/by contacting the required parties.
• Travel to offsite facilities to conduct vulnerability and security assessments.
• Oversee training of security personnel
• Take day to day direction from Security Lead
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Who You Are

• Must have ability to formulate responses to security audits
• Able to be certified in Basic First Aid, CPR, and AED
• Ability to work effectively in a team- oriented environment
• Demonstrate the ability to pay attention to detail and produce accurate work
  
  

What You'll Bring

• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Two years of experience in security as guard, officer, agent, or loss prevention member
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Valid Driver’s License
