- Assist with incident reporting and investigations
- Work closely with departmental leadership to ensure all safety training and scheduling is kept up to date
- Provide safety committee meeting minutes and co-chair the meetings as an active committee member
- Perform monthly safety inspections and gather inspections from others who do them
- Lead monthly procedure reviews; from notification through record retention
- Lead new staff through orientation of health, safety and management systems
- Assist with external audits as needed. As well as performing internal audits
- Assist in the administration of Action Requests
- Work with external agencies regarding safety, training or onsite visits
- Manage contractor vetting documentation and retention
- Lead annual NAOSH celebrations
- Coordinate evacuation drills
- Safety Data Sheet review and uploading to our database
- Proactively seeking opportunities for improvement
- Effective data entry skills
- Prior experience working with maintaining databases
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office software, Adobe Acrobat, and other safety-related software
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prior working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 and SA 8000 would be an asset
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred
- Ability to work both with management and staff in a respectful manner is essential
- Familiarity with MIOSHA requirements
- Prior experience managing injury claims is ideal
