Full Time Shipping & Receiving Associate

Location: Canton, Massachusetts
Schedule: 1st Shift. 6:30am - 3:00pm. Monday - Friday
Pay: $21–$23 per hour, based on relevant experience

Polkadog is a Boston-based pet food and treat company known for responsibly made treats, exceptional products, and genuine care for dogs and the people who love them. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate to support our Canton warehouse operation.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position focused primarily on fulfilling LTL and small-parcel UPS orders and receiving incoming product shipments, including occasional palletized and less-than-truckload freight.

The right person enjoys staying active, takes pride in accurate work, and can be counted on to keep orders and inventory moving safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do

• Pick, pack, label, and prepare wholesale LTL orders and small-parcel customer orders for UPS shipment
• Verify items, quantities, shipping addresses, and documentation before orders leave the warehouse
• Process shipments using our order-management and carrier shipping systems
• Receive incoming packages and palletized freight
• Count and inspect incoming merchandise for accuracy and visible damage
• Compare deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips
• Report shortages, overages, damages, and other receiving discrepancies
• Organize and put away received inventory in the correct warehouse locations
• Assist with limited LTL shipment preparation and receiving
• Safely operate warehouse equipment if trained and authorized
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving areas
• Help with inventory counts and other warehouse responsibilities as needed
• Communicate clearly with the warehouse, operations, and customer-service teams

What We’re Looking For

• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation to our Canton warehouse
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established processes
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
• Comfort using computers, shipping software, scanners, and order-management systems
• Ability to stand and move for most of the shift
• Ability to repeatedly lift and move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds
• A positive, practical attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
• Ability to speak and read english.

Preferred, but Not Required

• Previous shipping, receiving, fulfillment, or warehouse experience
• Experience with UPS shipping systems or similar carrier software
• Experience receiving palletized or LTL freight
• Forklift experience or current forklift certification
• Experience using a pallet jack
• Familiarity with Shopify or warehouse and inventory-management systems

Schedule

This positions schedule is Monday - Friday from 6:30am - 3:00pm. Some additional availability may be helpful during busy or seasonal periods.
