Position Overview
Plumbing Superintendent – San Antonio, TX
Polk Mechanical is currently seeking a highly experienced Plumbing Superintendent to lead and manage plumbing operations across a diverse portfolio of commercial and industrial projects in the San Antonio area.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise plumbing work on projects ranging from basic commercial installations to large-scale, multi-system builds
- Oversee and coordinate multiple foremen and field crews
- Interpret and enforce project specifications, blueprints, and plumbing codes
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and assist in administering the company’s safety program
- Maintain a safe and productive work environment across all job sites
- Monitor project schedules, resource allocation, and progress to meet deadlines
- Serve as a liaison between field operations, project management, and clients
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of verifiable experience in the plumbing trade, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role
- Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary, storm, and medical gas
- Proficient in reading and interpreting plumbing blueprints and specifications
- Familiarity with other major craft disciplines and coordination practices
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple teams and projects simultaneously
- Willingness to work in outdoor environments and physically demanding conditions (lifting up to 50 lbs., working in awkward positions, exposure to weather and job site hazards)
- Must have a valid driver's license
