The Plumber Apprentice works under the guidance of licensed plumbers to learn and assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems in commercial buildings. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals interested in developing a career in commercial plumbing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation and repair of piping systems, fixtures, water heaters, and drainage systems in commercial properties
- Help lay out and measure pipe runs and read blueprints or technical drawings
- Support the team in locating and diagnosing plumbing issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, both on-site and in storage areas
- Transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites
- Observe all safety protocols and procedures, including proper use of PPE
- Learn to use plumbing tools and equipment correctly and efficiently
- Attend training sessions and complete any required apprenticeship coursework
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Enrolled or willing to enroll in a certified plumbing apprenticeship program
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn plumbing skills
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various positions (climbing, kneeling, etc.)
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
*OSHA-10 certification is required. If you currently do not possess an OSHA-10, we will give you the opportunity to take the course prior to your employment.*
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed on active construction sites and in existing commercial buildings
- Exposure to varying weather conditions and potentially hazardous materials
- May involve early mornings, overtime, and occasional weekend work
