Electrical Maintenance Technician

The electrical maintenance technician is responsible for taking the lead in electrical and control troubleshooting, ensuring the daily functioning of machines. Ensure machines and facilities are consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition.

RESPONSIBLITIES MAY INCLUDE BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO

· Perform all daily maintenance on electrical equipment to ensure optimum performance and utilization.

· Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing equipment.

· Source repairs and replacement parts including process enhancements and control upgrades.

· Work co-operatively with all other departments and communicate effectively.

· Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintain shop area, parts, tools, and supplies as needed.

· Check conditions, fluid levels, overall battery voltage, and specific gravity readings of cells, using voltmeters and hydrometers.

· Test equipment for overheating.

· Identify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead, or participate in solution implementation.

· Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and services.

· Perform additional and all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

· Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Walking long distances sometimes on wet, uneven, and slippery surfaces.

· Climbing or moving on ladders, steps, stairwells, walkways, and platforms.

· Carrying, lifting, lowering, pushing, or pulling heavy and awkward objects or loads.

· Working in a cold/humid or hot/ dusty environment of 20-45 degrees F0.

· Wearing, using, and maintaining personal protective equipment. Using, cleaning, and safe handling of sharp tools.

· Frequent static and/or awkward work postures with neck and spine flexion while grasping, pinching, pulling, lifting, extending, flexing with hands and arms to perform task.

· Ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints, etc. to diagnose problems with manufacturing equipment.

· Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level, and a strong sense of urgency.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma (GED)

Vocational certificate or technical degree.

Experience may be considered equivalent if experience demonstrates ability to perform job effectively.

Ability to troubleshoot basic pneumatic and mechanical drive systems at the component level on all assigned equipment.

Good mechanical and electrical aptitudes, knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, ability to read and understand electrical schematics, good written/verbal communication skills.

Ability to take and pass a maintenance assessment.

Must regard safety as a core value.
