What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Service Officer - Part Time position at POLK COUNTY?
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is seeking applications for a part-time Community Service Officer. Applicants must be a High School graduate or equivalent, currently enrolled in a post-secondary Law Enforcement program and currently in or starting the last year of the program, must possess a CPR/Basic First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within 60 days of employment, and must possess a valid Driver’s License or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment. This position provides support to the Sheriff’s Office by fulfilling various duties that can be performed by a non-licensed officer. This position will take on a large array of duties designed to allow deputies to focus on patrol, court security/transport deputies to focus on their post within the Justice Center, as well as aid in projects and support areas within the agency.
The Service Officer position will also allow this individual to get a better understanding of how the Polk County Sheriff’s Office operates and the wide variety of opportunities the Sheriff’s Office provides for a career in Law Enforcement. This includes Patrol, Investigations, Drug Task Force, (SWAT, Negotiations, bomb squad in combination with Grand Forks Regional Emergency Response team), Boat and Water/Snowmobile/ATV safety/TZD grant shifts and Drone Pilot. There are also opportunities to be an Instructor in Field Training Officer, Firearms, Taser, Less Lethal, and Defensive Tactics.
Wage range for this position is $25.47 - $32.26/hour, DOE and qualifications. EOE.
