FLEET TECHNICIAN I (CIVILIAN).........$5,000
**$2,500 UPON HIRE, AND $2,500 UPON PROBATION COMPLETION**
The Fleet Technician I performs operations, technical and administrative duties for the Fleet Services Section. The most important and essential job function of the position is attitude which includes the following: interacting positively and cooperating with co-workers, responding politely to customers, working as a team member, functioning under intense time pressure and responding in a positive manner to supervision.
The Fleet Technician I shall perform other related duties and tasks, as required and shall have the physical, mental and emotional abilities to perform the essential job duties of the position.

Essential Functions
- Supervise trustees
- Perform shop maintenance
- Loan out vehicles
- Prepare impounded vehicle for release
- Maintain spare units
- Function as on call technician
- Prepares collision damage estimates
- Install and remove decals on equipment
- Perform automotive maintenance and repair
- Perform collision damage repair
- Utilize diagnostic equipment
- Perform emergency equipment repair and installation
- Perform welding
- Perform removal of equipment
- Perform maintenance on other equipment
- Process work orders
- Respond during natural disasters
- Work flexible hours
Education, Professional Certification or License
- High School or GED
- *ASE Certification preferred
- Florida driver’s license, CDL preferred
- Must attain sixteen (16) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) on an annual basis through online or classroom instruction
Professional Experience
- Two (2) years’ documented experience in the automotive or collision repair field, or completed an automotive or collision repair program from a technical college or vocational school.
